Ann Kinzel tells the story of how God has miraculously blessed her in all areas of her life as a businesswoman, mother, daughter and wife by leaning on the promises of God in times of severe hardship and the loss of her husband.  God’s peace has carried her through the valleys, dark times and the mountain tops, and she relies daily on John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I now give and bequeath to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

“Let go of the rope Julie, I’ll catch you.” That is what Julie heard God saying in the summer of 2002. Her reply to that was, “But God, if I let go of the rope, I don’t know what is going to happen to me. I don’t really know how to trust you with my entire life, because I’ve only given you certain parts of it in the past.” God not only caught her, but restored her life through the love of Jesus.

After more than 17 years of continuous ministry Pastor Dallas has been granted a three month sabbatical effective Jan 15, 2012. A sabbatical is a time of rest, refreshing and refocusing based on sound Biblical teaching. The Board and congregation of The Rock Church  have expressed their full support and encouragement as Dallas and Leah take this time to recharge.

All ministries of The Rock Church will continue during this time and we trust the Lord will allow us to continue to move forward in His will. Pastor Rodney Mercer will continue to lead Bibleville.  C23 Youth will be ably led by a team of caring and competent volunteers. We look forward to receiving from the preaching ministry of Boyd Hopkins.  The Board has asked Ron Johnson to come on staff during this time to serve as administrative pastor. Marj Stevens, our new administrative assistant will be providing support in the church office.

As a congregation we encourage all friends, volunteers and supporters to hold up Dallas, Leah and family in prayer during their time away. We also ask for your continued prayers and support of The Rock Church ministries (Bibleville, C23 Youth, Winning Women, etc). Your faithfulness is key to continuing to reach children, youth and adults with the gospel in the heart of Saskatoon

The Rock Church Frostbite Youth Night (7:30 pm, Friday, Jan 20th, 2012 ) includes the Jill Hagen Band in concert. Jill Hagen, a singer/songwriter from Camrose, Alberta was nominated for five Canadian Gospel Music awards for both her debut album “Perspective” (Pop/Contemporary Album, Inspirational Song and New Artist of the Year)  in 2008 and her second project “Ruined for the Ordinary” (Rock Album and Pop Song of the Year) in 2010. She tours with her band across Canada and the United States sharing her passion for Christ through music.

For Jodi, it began with an encounter with Jesus Christ in 1996 of healing and deliverance from the shame she carried from her youth. She founded Women’s Journey of Faith in 1999 from a deep desire to see the gospel of Jesus Christ unleashed in our community. After a year long sabbatical from WJOF this past year, she has re-discovered the joy of her salvation and the importance of our personal testimonies. Her resolution? Less striving and more thriving in His presence!

Ashley Anholt feels like there’s got to be more.  She grew up in a Christian home, living the “good Christian life”; a life of honour, kindness and faithfully attending church, but as she gained independence she began to wrestle with how to have actions speak louder than words.  Come hear about her pursuit to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before her God.
